If you still can’t find this email, please, contact our support providing the transaction ID and the method of payment, and we will be happy to help you.

Why does my IP address or location change on its own?

IP addresses in our pool a short lifespan. Once the IP address you are connected to goes offline, our system assigns you a new IP address from the nearest location among those that are available in our IP pool at that moment. Since this is an automatic change, it does not reflect in the number of your daily location changes.

Why am I getting connected to a different country?

If there are no available IPs from the country you’ve selected, you will be assigned an IP from the country that has available IPs in abundance. Since this is an automatic change, it would not reflect in the number of your daily location changes.

Why am I connected to a city X when I selected a city Y?

By selecting the country and the city, you are specifying your preferred location.
Upon receiving that information, our server looks for an available IP address from the nearest
city and assigns this to you. For larger cities, there’s a bigger chance that more IPs will be
available at all times, but for smaller ones, IP availability will be spread throughout the day.

Why am I getting the “IP you are using is not residential” message?

TuxlerVPN “residential” location option will be available only if the computer you got our app installed has a residential IP. If you are running tuxlerVPN app on a VPS or RDP, residential locations option won’t be available to you. If you believe that, there’s been a mistake and your IP is in fact residential, please, share it with us, so we can confirm if that’s the case.

Why am I getting the “Daily location change limit reached. Please, upgrade to premium” message even if I already have a premium account?

Being our premium user, you are entitled to 100 daily location changes as opposed to free users with 10 location changes. After reaching the daily limit, you’ll have to wait until it is reset at about 6:15 pm GMT every day.

Is it possible to increase the daily location changes limit from default 100?

No, unfortunately, it’s not possible. The only way to get more daily location changes is to purchase additional premium accounts and to alternate between them.

Can I use Tuxler on a VPS (RDP)?

Yes, but you won’t be able to select residential locations. To access this feature, your IP must be residential and not a data center, which is the case when you are using VPS.

Do you have a reseller program?

Yes, we do. Please, visit this page for more information: https://www.tuxlervpn.com/affiliate-reseller/

Which data transfer protocol tuxlerVPN is using?

At the moment, tuxlerVPN uses SOCKS5 protocol, as it’s the most secure and modern packet exchange protocol.

Will other users of tuxlerVPN be able to connect using my IP address?

When you use our free residential VPN, you automatically agree to add your IP address into the community pool. This means that you are trading your own IP address in return for the ability to connect via the IP addresses of other users. You can opt out of this by purchasing our premium subscription; once you upgrade to the premium version, your IP address will be removed from our community pool.

Do you support Linux/OpenVPN/Mobile?

No, we don’t, at the moment. TuxlerVPN is available as a desktop app for macOS and Windows 7 and 10 (64-bit), or as a Chrome and Firefox extension on these same OSes.

Do you have an API?

No, access to our service is possible via our desktop app or browser extension only.

How can I select/make sure to target residential IPs in the macOS tuxlerVPN app?

With our macOS app, residential IP targeting is enabled by default. If you wish to switch between residential and datacenter IPs on macOS, please use our browser extension.

Is there a kill switch to prevent my actual IP/DNS from leaking when VPN disconnects?

Both tuxlerVPN desktop apps and browser extensions prevent any program/browser from connecting to the Internet once connection drops. This feature resembles the kill switch in its function, and it is turned on by default.

My DNS leaks when I use Tuxler desktop app even when I set my DNS server in the localhost to 8.8.8.8

Unfortunately, at the moment, the only reliable solution for DNS-over-proxy is to use the tuxlerVPN Chrome/Firefox extension instead of a desktop app.
